Student Design Competition

The Student Design Competition (SDC) is a contest that will be run at the conference. It will allow undergraduate and graduate students to present their innovative ideas when faced with a design challenge, to exchange ideas, and to improve their communication skills while competing for prizes. The target audience of the competition is all students that will be attending INTERACT 2011. This submission category is not open prior to the beginning of the conference.
The challenge will be presented at the beginning of the conference, in any of the covered topic areas. Each SDC participant, should, individually, propose a solution for the referred problem by the end of the first conference day. The description of the solution will take the form of a two page extended abstract and PowerPoint slides supporting a ten minute oral presentation. The abstracts must be formatted in PDF according to the conference paper format, and should be submitted via the conference submission system at https://precisionconference.com/~interact.
The submissions will be evaluated by a panel of experts. A selected subset will be invited for a ten minute presentation followed by a five minute discussion. During this session, three winners will be selected in each category. The winners will receive prizes at the conference closing session.
